We regret that nothing is permanent - not even our beautiful mala beads.
Part of the tradition of yoga and meditation is acknowledging impermanence and practicing non-attachment.
The history and tradition of mala beads believes that if your mala breaks it represents karma breaking or a breakthrough. (This is not a bad thing, but rather a positive sign of progression).
A very famous and enlightened yogi was wearing one of our malas for several months when it suddenly broke -
"I think this is a good thing she said." After we explained the energetic links of a mala to karma she related it back to an experience that she had just had where she felt like a massive block for herself had just disappeared - shortly after - the mala representing this block became caught on something and broke.
The crystals and rudraksha seeds on our malas transmute energy - they take in the negativity, stress, fear and anxiety that we sometimes carry. For this reason it is very important to cleanse your mala.
We make our Tiny Devotions malas with an extremely strong string that can withhold a large amount of wear and tear and everyday stress. We are constantly finding ways to make our mala beads as strong as possible
That said, we do not recommend that you wear your mala in any physical activities such as yoga. Please feel free to place your mala in front of your mat to assist in your practice.
If your mala breaks we will be happy to restring it for you for a fee of $25.00 including tax and shipping.
